Frequently asked questions

How does blank page detection work?

Each page is scanned for text content; pages with less text than your threshold (default 5) and no images are removed. Uncertain pages are always kept.

Will it remove pages that only contain a letterhead image?

No — pages with image content are preserved. Only text-empty, image-empty pages are dropped.

Is my file uploaded to a server when stripping blanks?

No. Detection is 100% offline — the PDF is processed in your browser memory and never sent anywhere. Encrypted files are skipped with a warning.

Why is there a text threshold setting?

It lets you catch "almost blank" pages, like those containing only a single stray character from OCR noise. Raise it to be more aggressive.
